Annesley message to bunker as Grant prepares to fight charge

NRL Head of Football Graham Annesley has sent a message to the bunker following a controversial weekend of refereeing decisions.

Annesley said the bunker needs to be "more decisive" and "clearer" in its communication with the on-field referees.

"We need to make sure that the bunker is giving the on-field referees the best possible information so that they can make the right decisions," Annesley said.

"We need to be more decisive and clearer in our communication with the on-field referees."

Annesley's comments come after a number of high-profile refereeing errors in recent weeks.

The most controversial decision came in the Warriors' loss to the Panthers on Friday night, when a try to Warriors winger Marcelo Montoya was ruled out for a forward pass.

The decision was widely criticized, with many experts believing that the pass was legal.

Annesley said he understands the frustration of fans and players, but he urged them to be patient with the bunker.

"We're still in the early stages of using the bunker, and we're always learning," Annesley said.

"We're working hard to improve the system, and we're confident that we can make it better."

Warriors hooker Wayde Egan admitted he was disappointed with the decision, but he said he understands the NRL is trying to improve the game.

"It's frustrating when you feel like you've scored a try and then it gets taken away," Egan said.

"But I understand that the NRL is trying to make the game better, and I'm confident that they'll get it right eventually."

The Warriors will be looking to bounce back from their loss to the Panthers when they take on the Dolphins at One Media Stadium on Sunday.

The Dolphins are a new team in the NRL, but they have made a strong start to the season, winning two of their first three games.

The Warriors will need to be at their best if they want to beat the Dolphins and get their season back on track.
